Melissa Nelson, CEO

Message from Melissa

I have spent the past 38 years representing the members of the Idaho Society of CPAs, and I thank you all for that rewarding opportunity. As many of you already know, I am planning my retirement as of June 30, 2017. Immediate Past Chair Shane Bartlome is chairing the search committee, and they are well on the way to selecting my replacement. We have just listed the job posting, and the committee intends to complete their work by the first week in June.

It is a privilege to have spent my career with this wonderful CPA profession. Integrity, objectivity and independence are not just words – it’s how the profession lives, and being part of that life has made my professional life rich, joyful and an incredible amount of fun. I’ll be around the state in May to thank you all in person!

Attention Members Using Internet Explorer

Due to stricter PCI compliance regulations, ISCPA has had to upgrade our server and the encryption levels that we now support. This move means that we are using the strongest encryption currently available when dealing with our credit card processing.

Unfortunately, the default settings in many versions of Internet Explorer are still set at the lower security protocols. Any computer with these settings will not be able to access our secured pages.

If you are able to log into the member's only area, your browser has the necessary encryption settings already enabled.

If you are NOT able to log into the member's only area, you have 2 options:

Update the security encryptions in your current IE browser by
  • Click IE settings
  • Scroll to bottom, click internet options
  • Click on the Advanced tab
  • Scroll to Bottom
  • Check TLS 1.1 and 1.2
  • (clicking these two options enables stricter encryption which actually makes your browsing safer).

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, however, we are not sorry for taking the most responsible steps to ensure the safety of your information when you visit our website.
