Objectives
- The Professional Issues Update provides an opportunity for ISCPA members to get answers to their questions about professional and regulatory issues. Form 1099-K, Payment Card and Third-Party Network Transactions, is an IRS information return used to report certain payment transactions to improve voluntary tax compliance. This session offers updates on the new requirements.

Leaders
Cynthia Adrian
Cynthia has been with the Idaho State Tax Commission for fourteen years, starting as an auditor with the Tax Discovery Bureau, then moving to Income Tax Audit, Multistate Income Tax Audit, and finally finding a home in Tax Research. Cynthia is a graduate of Boise State University having earned both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting. Cynthia has provided income tax presentations to numerous groups including the Idaho Society of CPAs and also the Idaho State Legislature.
Laura Lantz
Laura Lantz joins ISCPA after eight years with the Idaho Association of Highway Districts, the past four as associate director. In her previous role, Laura was a legislative advocate for local highway and transportation issues. She was the liaison for 61 districts throughout the state, advising members on everything from budgets and management to policy. Her other responsibilities included member engagement and training. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a minor in marketing from the University of Montana. She is on the board of Idaho Society of Association Executives and is an active volunteer in her three sons' schools.
Luis Estrada

- Conducts investigations into possible Idaho Workers' Compensation law violations
- Facilitates educational opportunities regarding Idaho Workers' Compensation laws
- Trains fellow compliance investigators on new software
Luis earned his Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity Information Assurance from Western Governors University Western Governors University in 2023.

Alexa Lam
Alexa (Lexa) Lam is a Senior Stakeholder Liaison and is currently the relationship manager for California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA), California Certified Public Accountants (Cal CPA) Chapters, and various industry organizations in the San Francisco, San Mateo Bay Area and the state of Idaho.
In this position, she connects the chapters and organizations with the IRS policies, practices and procedural information they need to help them support their clients to voluntarily comply with federal tax law matters for properly filing and paying.
Alexa's position provides opportunities to speak at organization meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops, both face-to-face and via webcast, on tax-related topics that are relevant to the given audience.
Alexa has been employed with the IRS for 19 years in various roles such as SB/SE Examination, W&I Stakeholder Partnership Education and Communication (SPEC), and LB&I Examination.
Alexa is located in Oakland, California.
