Description

ISCPA strives to connect our members throughout Idaho by providing a community of like-minded professionals dedicated to protecting the integrity of the accounting profession.

We are pleased to have Tracey Golden, AICPA  Chair, join us to share her insights about working with state CPA societies, national governments, US state governments, regulators, legislators and accounting bodies to influence and shape policy decisions impacting the profession.

  • As business and individuals face uncertainty across the globe, the profession’s role as trusted advisers is of historic importance. Tracey Golden, CPA, CGMA, will discuss how the profession is addressing disruption and re-imagining its services to deliver value, drive resilience and help clients and employers navigate a complex, rapidly changing world. Topics will include innovation in core services, emerging services, the evolution of CPA licensur and lifelong learning.

The Idaho State Tax Commission and IRS will also be presenting so this will be a great day of updates!

    Cynthia Adrian

    Cynthia has been with the Idaho State Tax Commission for twelve years, starting as an auditor with the Tax Discovery Bureau, then moving to Income Tax Audit, Multistate Income Tax Audit, and finally finding a home in Tax Research.

    Cynthia is a graduate of Boise State University having earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting.

    Cynthia has provided income tax presentations to numerous groups including the Idaho Society of CPAs and also the Idaho State Legislature.

    Kristen Hoiby

    Kristen has two degrees from the University of Washington in History and Chinese Regional Studies and somehow found her way to the Internal Revenue Service. She’s been with the Internal Revenue Service since 1990, beginning in the toll-free call site spending seven years as a manager. In 2000, Kristen joined what would become Stakeholder Liaison and became an Area Manager in 2007. Her area includes 17 states from Alaska to Illinois and all the way south to Utah. In her spare time, she loves gardening and always finds a spot for just one more special plant…

    Laura Lantz

    Laura Lantz

    Laura Lantz joins ISCPA after eight years with the Idaho Association of Highway Districts, the past four as associate director.

    In her previous role, Laura was a legislative advocate for local highway and transportation issues. She was the liaison for 61 districts throughout the state, advising members on everything from budgets and management to policy. Her other responsibilities included member engagement and training.

    Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a minor in marketing from the University of Montana. She is on the board of Idaho Society of Association Executives and is an active volunteer in her three sons’ schools.

    Tracey Golden

    Tracey Golden

    Tracey Golden CPA, CGMA, is the Chair of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.

    Golden has held a number of volunteer leadership positions at the AICPA, previously serving as a member of the Board of Directors and governing Council, as well as Chair of both the Audit and Finance committee and Peer Review Board. In addition, she has served as the Board Liaison to the AICPA Foundation Board of Trustees and a member of the Relations with the Bar and National Peer Review committees, among other volunteer positions.

    An audit partner with Deloitte, Golden has responsibility for facilitating and coordinating reputation and risk related initiatives and matters. She collaborates with member firm leadership to proactively identify emerging risk matters and monitor and facilitate managing existing risks in the Americas region. In addition, she is an Engagement Quality Control Reviewer for a financial services industry client. Golden also serves as a consultation resource for many insurance client engagement teams. She has extensive experience in inspection-related activities and has served as the leader of Deloitte’s internal and external inspections team and audit quality initiatives leader.

    Golden is an active speaker, presenting at many AICPA and state CPA society conferences on topics including leadership in accounting firms, growing the CPA pipeline and trends in the profession.

    She is a member of both the Connecticut and Virginia State CPA Societies, and she previously served on the Kansas State CPA Society Board of Directors. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and several of its committees. She also serves on the board of the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County.

    Golden has been recognized for her experience and leadership in the accounting profession. She was named as one of the Most Powerful Women in Accounting by the AICPA and CPA Practice Advisor, and was awarded the AICPA Sustained Contribution Award, recognizing her years of volunteer service on AICPA committees.

    Golden received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University.

    Neki Cox

    Neki Cox Sr. Stakeholder Liaison for Stakeholder Liaison Department in Communication and Liaison (C&L)

    Neki Cox is a C&L Division Sr. Stakeholder Liaison in Denver. As a stakeholder relationship manager, she has served as a coordinator for IRS seminars, meetings, and multi-speaker engagements. She focuses on developing communication and educational opportunities with tax practitioner, civic, non-profit and for-profit business organizations in Wyoming and Montana. She leads and coordinates the IRS Disaster Assistance program with FEMA. She is a tax professional data breach dispatcher to Criminal Investigation and other divisions.

    Neki began her IRS career in 1995. She has held other positions in the Human Capital Office as a Recruiter and Analyst, in the Taxpayer Advocate Division as a Sr. Taxpayer Advocate, and in the Exam Division as an Office Auditor, Earned Income Credit Coordinator, and an e-File Marketing Specialist. She has prior experience in computer report writing, bookkeeping, collections, purchasing, customer service, sales, and restaurant management.

    Neki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Small Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
