    Leaders

    Mark Mirsky

    Mark Mirsky is a licensed CPA in Illinois with in-house corporate accounting experience, and has worked in both large and small accounting firms. He has a Master's in Taxation from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In 2004 Mark co-founded ROI Business Services, LLC, where he leads the Taxation and Management Advisory Services. In 2018 he founded ROI CPE, LLC to provide quality education to the CPA industry.

    With a focus on partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, and multi-state taxation, Mark also provides assistance for business startups, the acquisition and disposition of businesses, international taxation, and real estate.

    Mark works with businesses and organizations across the country and around the world, including manufacturing/distribution, technology and web-based, and construction companies, as well as service firms and medical practices. He also works with individuals and tax planning.

    Mark's background includes working in the international tax group at one of the largest accounting firms in the world, and for two middle-market firms focusing on closely held businesses, serving as a firm-wide resource for partnership and multistate taxation.

    He currently is teaching around the country for ROI CPE, LLC, a former National instructor for Western CPE and Vern Hoven Tax Seminars, and was also a National instructor teaching partnerships/S corps/C corps/individual/property taxation for the AICPA as well as an instructor at the National Tax Education Program for the AICPA. Mark is a member of the AICPA, ILCPAS, former Chairman of the Board for the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce, and former assistant Varsity boys’ and girls’ soccer coach for Bartlett High School.

    Concentrations: Tax instruction, business consulting, multi-state and partnership taxation, international tax, S-corporations, startup businesses, tax planning, individual tax, accounting and assistance with structuring sales/acquisitions of businesses.

    Stephen Brooks

    Stephen R. Brooks is a Managing Director in the ROI Business Services, LLC St. Louis office. Stephen works with individuals, trusts, and small to medium sized businesses and their owners in providing accounting, tax, financial planning, and consulting services. Since working in the private wealth group at a Big Four accounting firm, Stephen's skillset has been focused on providing comprehensive tax planning to high net worth individuals that includes wealth management and transfer of wealth to subsequent generations. Stephen is an instructor and has taught Individual Income tax, Trust tax, Gift tax, Estate tax, S-Corporations and Advanced Estate and Trust Planning. He is a CPE course author, and technical reviewer for the American Institute of CPAs (“AICPA”). Stephen has also authored a book for AICPA on “Advanced Estate and Trust Planning.”

    Stephen is a licensed CPA in Missouri and Illinois. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a Personal Financial Specialist from the AICPA. Stephen has a Master's of Science in Taxation from the University of Illinois. He graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, with a major in Accounting and Finance and a minor in Psychology. Stephen is a member of the Missouri CPA Society (MSCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Stephen is also a co-founder of the St. Louis Suit Project, a public charity (Section 501(c)(3)), www.thestlouissuitproject.org, and is a trustee of the Us Against Cancer organization, www.usagainstcancer.org.
