Explore the possibilities...

The world of accounting offers many possibilities… What kinds of opportunities await you after you pass the CPA exam? Will you find a career in public accounting, business, industry, education or government? You can learn about the CPA profession and network with CPAs as a student member of the Idaho Society of CPAs.

Who is eligible?

Any college student interested in accounting or any person who is eligible to sit for, or is actively pursuing, the CPA certificate may apply for Student Membership and may continue as a Student member until receipt of the CPA certificate.

How much does it cost?

Membership is FREE for current, active members of Beta Alphi Psi. Dues are $25 per calendar year for non-members of Beta Alpha Psi. Do not send payment with your application — we will bill. Your dues will be pro-rated the first year based on the quarter in which your membership application is accepted. Thereafter, you will be billed each January.

Dues are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes, but may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses. According to the Revenue Reconciliation Act of 1993, the portion of professional association dues attributed to lobbying expenses no longer is deductible. Consequently, 10% of the dues amount is not deductible as a business expense.

Student Member Benefits:

  • An opportunity for students to get involved with a professional association early in their careers.

  • Network with CPAs at member functions, such as our IEG Breakfasts, Chapter Luncheons, Annual Meeting and more.

  • Serve on a committee and help to steer the profession.

  • Receive Society publications, and have your articles published in the Society’s on-line newsletter.

  • Receive lists of CPA members who are interested in acting as mentors or resources to student members.
