Effective April 1, 2006, the simulations on the Uniform CPA Examination will be upgraded. The new simulations will provide a more seamless and intuitive way for candidates to navigate through simulations. A new tutorial demonstrating the upgraded simulations is available at
www.cpa-exam.org. Candidates who are or will be scheduled to take the examination beginning April 1, 2006 are encouraged to review the tutorial to become familiar with the new functionality of the examination.
To learn more about the new computerized
CPA Exam, visit "The Uniform CPA Examination" web site at
www.cpa-exam.org.
You'll find an online tutorial that demonstrates the new exam's format and
functions.
In the December 2003 Journal of
Accountancy, David A. Costello, president and CEO of the
National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, explains the
computerized exam's innovations and the advantages they offer candidates
and business. To view online, please go to

Also, the Computer-Based Test webcast held
on November 12, 2003, was archived and is available for viewing. Go to
http://www.cpa-exam.org/cpa/webcast_info.htm for links to the archived webcast and to the presentation slides (which you can view, save/print separately).
While the webcast was geared to employers,
it includes good information for candidates. You do not need to be
pre-registered to view the archived webcast. However, we recommend you
review the system requirements first to ensure you have appropriate
software and hardware.
