The Western and Pacific Northwest Intergovernmental Audit Forum’s joint fall conference will be held September 18-19, 2008, at the Montbleu Resort, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The conference will run all day Thursday and Friday morning, and will offer 12 CPEs at a cost of $195.00. It will feature a reception, a lunch and 2 continental breakfasts. Dress at the conference is business casual.

Conference topics include sessions on auditing flu pandemic planning, law enforcement auditing and accountability, analysis and presentation using Excel pivot tables, and a new feature: significant audit reports from around the region.

Thursday morning, the WIAF will offer roundtable/breakout sessions on performance auditing and financial/IT/compliance auditing. GAO’s Beverly Norwood will facilitate a lively session on "The Leadership Imperative: Practicing Core Leadership Skills"  Thursday afternoon. On Friday morning, there will be a principals only meeting concurrent with the first two morning sessions and Roland Malan will conclude the conference with an engaging workshop on ethics and auditing.
