How often do committees meet?
Meetings vary by committee. See the committee descriptions above for meeting estimates.

How long is my commitment?
All appointments are for one year. Committee members are eligible to serve for four years, with an additional two-year term for chairs. Please see Peer Review Committee description for details regarding that committee.

What kind of experience do I need?
Generally, your interest and commitment as a member are the only requirements. Some committees may require more professional experience or technical background than others.

Will I be reimbursed for my travel costs?
The Society does not reimburse travel costs for committee members (except for the Peer Review Committee). Some Committee members occasionally are asked to attend out-of-state conferences, and those expenses are reimbursed. However, teleconferencing and email make being involved in committees easy no matter where you live.

How do I sign up?
Simply use the on-line form below to select the committee(s) you’d like to join. Hit "Submit Form" to send your request form directly to the Society or email us with your preference.

What if I’m already on a committee?
You still must complete and submit the form (except for Peer Review Committee members). Even if you are currently on a committee and even if you submitted a form last year, you must submit this form so we know of your continued interest.
